Research in university----All Fake and Lies

My almost 5 years accademic experience taught me just only one thing. Most of these researchers are egomaniacs. They use public money to to do their fake dances in the name of researches. They say everyone should be independant in their thinking means " I will not help you, because I have power you have to work as slaves to me". Sevearl years ago I was crying that I did not get a chance to study PhD and do "good Science". What I found after five years of research work about this research community is every research is bunch of lies and every paper's intention is to give a "good Story". I think our tax money is wasted in the hands of bully egomaniacs. What I heard from my advisor and chairwomen of the department is all complaints about their mentors. Likewise students in the department are crying because of their advisor's bullying behaviors toward them or are complaining about their advisors miserable treatment. In my opinion, if research in science goes like this we will see more and more plagiarism. THESE RESEARCHERS' WASTING PEOPLE'S TAX MONEY.

After my advisor heard about another student's family member got a good a job, can you imagine what he told. He told "Oh, he got a job" These researchers are so mean. I do not mean every researchers. I hate the competion in the research fields. Every week we have some faculty members from other universities travel to our university and give seminars. Every person from our dept. attend the seminars. At the end, what we hear from the seminar speaker is bunch of lies. They don't really talk about their research. They just tell some stories.

My advisor made so many students in my lab cry. There were complaining from his former students. But the advice from the chair for the student was to give up graduate school. There are all lot of "bitterness and frustration" about the bully behavior of their advisors.

I really hate this graduate school style. I do not know why people do not care of these bullying in these universities.

What I found after doing most work in the lab is these profs do not like if you do not get the expected results. How can you always get something that they suggested in their proposal. So, why are we doing reserach?

Scientific Research is just making good stories

Make your voice heard against bullying professors in universities

I am a graduate student in a biological sciences department. My advisor several times scolded me without any reason when he came to know that I have a child to take care of. He said to me " you are screwed up", "you have problem" and " You have to get a good results, otherwise I will throw you out from the lab". He also told me "Since you are female, even if you finish your PhD you will not find a good job". Finally, he insisted me to quit my studies.

He threatened most of his students in the lab. If students do not get "good results", he scolds them in uncivilized way. I want someone to speak up loudly against this academic bullying. I did not see much posting about this bullying behavior. I also noted no mainstream media ever talked about this bullying behavior in higher institutions where we think we learn to become good citizen. Because most of the graduate students are poor Indians or Chinese, they do not speak up against these professors' bullying behavior. Please, keep alive this blog. Do something to protect our future student generaration. STOP THIS BULLYING IN ACCADEMIA.

Now, this professor is being interviewed in good universities for the faculty position. What can we do to prevent these bullies to get good positions?

PLEASE TAKE SOME ACTIONS TO STOP ACCADEMIC ABUSE OF GRADUATE STUDENTS.

Please post here your experiences in universities.
